Once the community cultural center for Thomas, West Virginia, the 1902 Cottrill's Opera House is currently being restored to its original grandeur through the efforts and support of Alpine Heritage Preservation, Vandalia Heritage Foundation, and the City of Thomas. Planning efforts for the structure continue, following a recent "emergency" stabilization.
The building's owner, Alpine Heritage Preservation, will reuse the facility primarily as a live performance theatre with other complementary uses, returning the Cottrill's Opera House to its role as a focal point of the Thomas community.
