Hutchinson House--current

Fairmont's Hutchinson House is evidence of that city's coal boom of the early 1900's. Once a grand home in an upscale neighborhood, this lovely historic residence fell upon tough times as a run-down apartment house. Vandalia acquired the property and the adjacent Alexander House in order to continue a neighborhood revitalization effort. As evidence of its commitment to Fairmont's neighborhoods, Vandalia has chosen Hutchinson House as its headquarters, as well as home to its Preservation Resource Center for homeowners and other indivdual sand organizations interested in historic preservation.

Please contact our offices at 304.368.1555 to schedule a visit to our Preservation Resource Center.

Vandalia Heritage Foundation's Preservation Resource Center features an extensive reference library for homeowners and other individuals and organizations interested in historic preservation, design and planning, community and economic development and various other topics.

Additionally, interested parties may schedule an appointment with Vandalia's staff for technical assistance.

Contact our offices at 304.368.1555 for additional information.
